📄 TERMS OF USE & PRIVACY NOTICE

1. General Information

This blog (“Blog”) is operated by Hellenic Informatics Union (HIU) (“Administrator”). By accessing or using the Blog you fully and unreservedly accept these Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the Cookies Policy.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Blog.


2. User Content & Acceptable Conduct

Users may post comments or other content. It is prohibited to upload or publish content that:

  • violates applicable law or public morals,

  • is abusive, defamatory, offensive, or threatening,

  • incites illegal activities or violence,

  • infringes third-party rights (e.g., copyright),

  • includes personal data of third parties without consent,

  • contains racist, sexist, homophobic, or other hate speech,

  • contains spam or advertisements without authorization,

  • includes viruses or other harmful software.

The Administrator reserves the right to remove content and block users without prior notice.


3. Disclaimer of Liability

Content posted by users represents their own views and sole responsibility. The Administrator:

  • is not obliged to pre-moderate user content,

  • is not liable for the accuracy, legality or appropriateness of such content,

  • is not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use of such content.


4. Intellectual Property

All original content of the Blog (excluding user-generated content) is protected under applicable intellectual property legislation. Reproduction without authorization is prohibited.

This Policy complies with:

  • General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”),

  • Greek Law 4624/2019 (national implementation of GDPR),

No sensitive data as defined by GDPR is collected.

  • maintaining conversation history,

  • anti-spam & security protection,

  • statistical traffic analysis (if enabled),

  • targeted advertising (if enabled),

  • compliance with legal obligations.

Processing is based on:

  • Consent (e.g., analytics, advertising),

  • Contractual basis (provision of comment functionality),

  • Legal obligation (recordkeeping, compliance).

No data is transferred outside the EU without appropriate legal basis. For cloud services, GDPR-compliant mechanisms such as SCCs are used.

This Policy may be updated without prior notice. Continued use of the Blog constitutes acceptance of the amendments.


🔚 Final Provisions / Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Greek Law and European Union Law. Courts of jurisdiction: Athens, Greece.
